I came back to Tokyo for a few days to buy a video camera. I got it at Akihabara with some help from Chika, whom I met in Matsumoto. I went to see the big Gundam in Odaiba and the Tsujiki Fish Market while roaming the city to get a few shots.

Yesterday, I went to Lake Kawaguchi to see Mount Fuji, but it was so cloudy that the mountain was completely hidden from view. I decided to walk around the lake for a while, and ran into Michael and Caroline, a Parisian couple on vacation for two weeks. As we continued our stroll, for a fleeting moment, the clouds near the top of the mountain cleared to reveal the peak. I was really surprised by how high it was in the distance, as I imagined it to be half the size when I gazed at the blank white space where it would have been.
